ASPENYARROW REMIX PRESS KIT
Set to release 3 remixes on 1/31, 2/16 and 2/28!
Anchorage, AK – Already a genre-blurring singer/songwriter throughout her varied career, Aspenyarrow, is thrilled to announce the release of a trio of remixes that breathe new life into her three most-recent singles. This remix collection offers a chance to "dance our sadness out after we’ve had a good cry," blending catharsis with joy and honoring the transformative artistry that is collaboration.

“The reason I decided to do remixes is because I love how art can ‘take a sad song and make it better,’” says Aspenyarrow, quoting The Beatles. “When I write songs about my emotional struggles, it’s my way of transforming those struggles into something meaningful, and remixing takes that a step further. Now we can dance our sadness out.” These tracks are for anyone who finds solace in dancing through their emotions, a bass drop that speaks deeply to the soul, or the pure joy of losing themselves in the rhythm.

Even if the musical structure of them is dramatically different, fans should recognize the titles of the three remixes releasing over the next four weeks as they are the three most recent singles she released late last fall, Lonely, If I Run and Bein’ Human’s Weird.
Blending Aspenyarrow’s heartfelt storytelling with Los Angeles’-based producer & engineer, Bahby’s innovative production creates new energy for a track that is as emotionally resonant as it is sonically exciting. Inspired by the likes of Fred Again, Diplo and Calvin Harris, the resulting remix of Aspenyarrow’s Lonely is a compelling fusion of styles that embody the collaborative process. “It’s not just about remixing a track,” Bahby reflected, “but about pushing boundaries and reinterpreting music (...) while still respecting the integrity of the original.”

New York-based producer, MXJIA describes their remix of Aspenyarrow’s If I Run as a journey through the beauty and chaos of life. “This song appealed to me because it’s okay to feel all the feelings and embrace life as it is,” he said. “I wanted the remix to reflect those emotions, transitioning between peace and energized chaos.” Inspired by artists like Sharks, Skybreak, and phritz, MXJIA fused color bass and dubstep with intricate sound design, creating a standout track that’s as thoughtful as it is dynamic.

“Bein’ Human’s Weird has always been one of our favorite songs by Aspenyarrow,” expressed Alaskan electro-pop collective, The Robotz (formerly 3000-21). “Aspenyarrow’s music is so emotionally rich, so it was exciting to explore the song from another angle.” Drawing inspiration from electronic legends like Pogo, The Field, and Aphex Twin, this remix dives into playful yet intricate beats that reframe the original in unexpected ways.

These three remixes are due for a staggered release over the next month, beginning with Lonely (remix) on January 31st, 2025. Two weeks later, the world will experience the drop of the Bein’ Human’s Weird (remix) on February 16th, followed in another two weeks by the remix of If I Run, on February 28th. The originally-released versions of these tracks are available now on all music streaming platforms.
